Ludovica Chiovini

Moving to the United States

Born in Naples and raised in Rome, Italy, Ludovica began her artistic journey at a young age. At 14, she began her acting training at Studio Cinema International, where she completed a two-year diploma in on-camera acting. During her training, she had the opportunity to work with established Italian actors and directors, including Gabriele Muccino, Adriano Giannini, and Claudio Castrogiovanni.

At 16, her interest in filmmaking expanded beyond acting as she began studying directing through workshops at the Laboratorio di Arte Cinematografica with director Alessandro Colizzi. Alongside directing, she continued her acting training with actress Agnese Nano.

At 17, she participated in an English-language acting workshop led by casting director Maya Kvetny, beginning to develop her experience working across languages and within an international environment.

At 18, Ludovica appeared as an extra in the Netflix television series DI4RIES, gaining her first experience on a professional television production.

Experience

In March of 2026, she started working as an Intern for the Quad Cities Film Office, where she researched film locations, talent, and production services while managing the social media profiles, community outreach, and industry research.

She currently works as a Multimedia Producer and Marketing Team for the Office of Student Life and Leadership and as a Videographer for the Office of Sexual Assault Prevention Education, creating video, photography, and social media content for campus events and educational programs.

She has also worked as an Arts & Culture Videographer and Writer for the Augustana Observer and as an Assistant Director, co-directing the musical Company.

Her experience also includes mentoring young artists with developmental disabilities through theatre and acting with the Penguin Project at the Center for Living Arts, and working at the Prop Shop of Augustana College

After graduating from high school with a focus on international languages, Ludovica moved to the United States to pursue a B.A. in Film, Theatre, and Creative Writing at Augustana College in Illinois.

During her four years at Augustana, she wrote and produced more than six short films and contributed to numerous other student productions, working both in front of and behind the camera.

Her theatre experience has been equally diverse, including work as a makeup artist, hairstylist, lighting technician, costume designer, assistant director, and actress. She also served as an assistant director for two consecutive years, gaining experience in both the creative and organizational sides of theatrical production.

In January 2026, Ludovica wrote, produced, and directed her first play, 7 Minutes, expanding her experience as a storyteller from film into live performance.
